MMS Scandal leads to Suicide of Minor Girl in Odisha

In a shocking development, a minor girl from Nemala village under Salepur police station in Cuttack district, committed suicide after her sex video was uploaded by her “boyfriend” on the Internet. The MMS scandal was being circulated in the area through mobile phones. The girl was a student of Class X.

The accused was identified as Kamalakanta Malla. He reportedly shot several love-making scenes with the minor girl when they were having an affair. He also used those clippings to blackmail the girl and have sex with her many times.

When the matter came into light, the girl could not bear the pain of social stigma and out of fear and shame, she ended her life by consuming poison. A case of unnatural death has been lodged on the basis of FIR filed by deceased’s family. The accused is still at large.
