Monsoon arrives in Odisha, More Rainfall by June 15

The Southwest Monsoon arrived in Odisha today, ending the long wait of people and providing them huge relief. Malkangiri district became the first district in Odisha to receive monsoon rains. It had been one of the hottest regions in Odisha.

Apart from Malkangiri district, many other areas of Koraput and Nabarangpur districts too received rainfall today. The monsoon would be activated across the state over the next three days. More rainfall is likely in many parts of Odisha by June 15.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has confirmed the arrival of monsoon and predicted heavy rainfall at one or two places of the state during the next 48 hours. There would be normal rainfall till June 22.
