Monsoon Session of Odisha Assembly begins today

ONI Bureau:  Mansoon Session of Odisha Assembly begins today and will continue till September 20. There will be a total 11 working days.

While, supplementary budget to be presented on September 5, Vidhan Parishad proposal to be tabled on September 6 reportedly.

The House paid tributes to the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Ex-LS Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, Ex-TN CM M Karunanidhi, former Members of the House & ex-constable Sanjay Majhi on the opening day.

As per report, the ruling BJD would highlight Mahanadi and Polavaram issues and raise Centre’s negligence towards Odisha during the Monsoon Session of Odisha Assembly.

Likewise, BJP will raise issues like depriving people of the benefits of Ayushman Bharat and party campaigning through government schemes among others.

The Congress has also identified issues like non-payment of insurance money to farmers and setting up a Vidhan Parishad without taking opposition parties into confidence.
