Moren Elena meets Odisha DGP, seeks arrest of Zee Kalinga Editor

Romanian-Woman-ElenaMoren Elena from Romania, key aide of spiritual guru Swami Shankarananda Giri of Kriya Yoga Ashram, met Odisha DGP Sanjeev Marik and sought the immediate arrest of Zee Kalinga TV Editor Satya Prakash Nayak.

Elena alleged that she was abused, threatened and manhandled by Satya Nayak and two other correspondents during her stay at a Hotel in Chandikhole in Jajpur district of Odisha last month. However, Satya and Zee Kalinga have already refuted the charges and accused Shankarananda Giri of launching a tirade against them for “exposing” their alleged land grab scam.

The incident occurred last month when Swami Shankarananda Giri was on a visit to Chandikhole. He, Elena and some other disciples were staying at the same hotel, but in different rooms. As the hotel was raided by the reporters and some local residents, some TV channels reported the incident in a negative manner.

Swami Shankarananda and Elena denied any wrongdoings. Even, no illegal or immoral things were reported. However, Elena went a step further by accusing the Zee Kalinga Editor and his staff of abuse, mental torture, detention, character assassination etc. A FIR was already lodged against Satya Prakash Nayak, which triggered a massive public outrage too.

Elena has invoked women’s dignity and safety issues and accused the police and government of showing apathy because of the involvement of a senior Editor. She demanded immediate justice. Elena had already moved the State Commission for Women (SCW). On the other hand, Zee Kalinga has accused her of trying to gain cheap publicity and working at the behest of Swami Shankarananda Giri to suppress the facts.

Satya Prakash  Nayak has already moved the Orissa High Court seeking an anticipatory bail in connection with the case filed by parents of some students of Prabhujee English medium school, Bhubaneswar, which is run by Kriya Yoga Ashram.
