Mortal remains of Jawan martyred in Manipur reaches Bhubaneswar today

ONI Bureau: The mortal remains of an Assam Rifles from Odisha who martyred during a combing operation in Manipur on Friday, reached at the capital city today morning.

The martyr has been identified as Champeswar Mahakud, a resident of Dhaurakhaman village under Rairakhol police limits of Sambalpur district, was posted at Joupi in Chandel district of Manipur in 2001.

As per report, Champeswar attained martyrdom during a fire exchange with suspected militants of banned People’s Liberation Army (PLA) at Chandel village on Friday. The jawan is survived by his wife and eight-year-old son.
