Nabakalebara 2015: Lawyers’ Strike hits Normal Life in Puri

Puri-Lawyers-StrikeThe 12-hour dawn-to-dusk strike called by the Puri Bar Association lawyers, has hit the normal life in the holy town today. The bandh is total and its impact was seen elsewhere in the town. The lawyers have gone on a strike, protesting against the breach of rules and regulation during the Brahma Sthapan of deities and demanded strong action against the erring Daitapatis.

The lawyers picked across the town, including bus stops and railway stations. Vehicular traffic came to a standstill, as the agitating lawyers staged a road blockade. Shops and business establishments remained closed, while Puri Town Autorickshaw Association joined the protest.

The Puri Bar Association received full support from Orissa High Court Bar Association, Bhubaneswar Bar Association and many other Bar Associations across the state, which ceased the work today.
