NABARD provides 35% Additional Funds to Odisha in 2014-15

NABARDThe National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has provided 35% additional funds to Odisha in 2014-15 for different projects. In total, Ra 10,000 crore has been sanctioned out of which Rs 8,000 crore has already been disbursed.

NABARD has provided an assistance of Rs 1,077 crore to Odisha government for construction of 3,700 godowns in rural areas. These godowns will have storage space of 9.23 lakh tonnes when combined together.

The information was provided by NABARD Chief General Manager SK Kale at the bank’s regional office in Bhubaneswar at a function organised on Sunday to mark the 34th Foundation Day of the NABARD.

Apart from providing assistance for mega food parks, NABARD is also assisting Self Help Groups (SHGs) in 10 districts of the country. Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur is part of the pilot project.
