NABARD sanctions assistance of Rs.1134.47 Cr to Odisha

NabardBhubaneswar, Sep 22: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs. 1,134.47 crore rupees assistance to Odish government under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF).

The fund has been sanctioned to the state government by the bank to carry out drinking water projects fluoride affected blocks in and lift irrigation projects in the state. With the sanctioned of the additional fund, the total sanction to Odisha government has increased to Rs. 1,845.70 crore in the current fiscal year.

According to reports, NABARD under its RIDF scheme, Rs. 543.63 crore have been released for drinking water project in Nuapada district. The state government using the fund to state drinking water projects in the fluoride affected blocks in the district. Under the RIDF, NABARD approved fund of Rs. 497.33 crore for 19 Mega Lift Irrigation Projects in Cluster III in the state.
