NALCO gets Holi Gift, bags 2 Coal Blocks in Odisha

NALCOThe National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has bagged two coal blocks in Odisha to boost its captive power plant in Angul district. The company has been allotted Utkal-D and Utkal-E coal blocks.

The allocation agreement was signed between the centre and NALCO in New Delhi on 23rd March, 2016 just on the eve of Holi. Tapan Chand, Chairman and Managing Director of NALCO, thanked the centre and termed the allocation as a ‘Holi Gift’.

Vivek Bharadwaj, Nominated Authority, on behalf of Government of India and D Manjit, GM (Coal Mines Division), NALCO signed the agreement. NALCO is expected to spend Rs 300 crore towards the development of these coal blocks.
