ONI Bureau: Coming down heavily on Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has accused him of getting intolerant against criticism and unleashing ‘Biju Yuva Vahini’ on the opposition leaders who dare to question him.
In a video message from Bhopal, Dharmendra Pradhan alleged that although Naveen Patnaik pretends to be a tolerant leader, but he is not in reality. “The CM gets pleasure to insult his critics and opponents. I can say from my own experience,” he alleged.
“You boast about being a popular leader. But, when a former MP criticised you, you wanted to silence him by using your Biju Yuva Vahini, which was built at the hard-earned money of Odia people. Everyone has a right to criticise you and vice versa. You are surrounded by a coterie, who are getting ruthless. People of Odisha can see everything. They would give you a fitting reply,” he added.
Dharmendra condemned the attack on Kharabela Swain at Kashipur in Rayagada yesterday, saying the former MP brought glory to the State and has a right to air his views and opinion. Repeated attacks on him at the behest of ruling party, is very disturbing. I have talked to the Chief Secretary and DGP on this issue and lodged my protests,” he added.
Dharmendra also rejected the Crime Branch probe into the incident and asked whether the Odisha police is incompetent to probe such an incident, which occurred in full public view and has the video footage too.
