Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik disapproves Disruption of Parliament

Naveen PatnaikOdisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who returned from a four-day visit to Delhi today, has disapproved the stalling of Parliament by some parties, saying the Houses should be allowed to function and all issues must be resolved on the floor only.

Naveen’s remarks hold significance in the wake of statements made by BJD MPs Pinaki Mishra and Baijayant Panda, who backed the Speaker’s decision to suspend 25 Congress MPs for violating the rules and disrupting the House for over 8 days.

The Odisha CM also revealed that talks are going on with the Centre over Posco and Chief Secretary Gokul Chandra Pati has been directed to pursue the matter. The Posco project is not closed yet, he confirmed.

While respond to a query whether his party would support the BJP, he said BJD would continue to pursue its policy of maintaining equi-distance from Congress and BJP. He ruled out any reshuffle or expansion of his Cabinet and said that strong action would be taken against the guilty in Nabakalebara fiasco.
