Naveen Patnaik’s Puja Gift: 6% DA Hike for Govt. Employees

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik gave a pleasant Durga Puja Gift to all state government employees today, as he decided to hike the dearness allowance (DA) by 6%. The DA has been increased to 119% from the existing 113%.

The DA hike will benefit over 4 lakh salaries employees and pensioners in Odisha. The increased payment will be added to the October salary. However, it will be effective from July 2015.

The government will bear an extra burden of Rs 305 crore on the state exchequer. The last DA hike (6%) was announced on April 20, 2015.
