A probe has been ordered against Deputy Commandant Jawahar Patel, who is the Personal Security Officer (PSO) of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, for dozing off on duty during a public function at the 75th Indian Roads Congress on January 19.
The state government took note of the matter after leading Odia Daily, Sambad published the photograph yesterday. In the picture, Naveen Patnaik was seen taking a power nap and Jawahar Patel was also doing the same by sitting behind.
The incident occurred during the inaugural ceremony of 75th Indian Roads Congress (IRC) at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar. As per the standard procedure, Patel was supposed to stand behind the Chief Minister and provide him full security. It comes as a shock to many how he was allowed to sit and then sleep. The latest development put a question mark on the security arrangements of Odisha CM.
