New National Highway to connect Gopalpur to Digha

The Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways and Shipping, Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday announced that National Highway will be constructed from Digha in West Bengal to Bahuda Muhan near Gopalpur as 550KM Digha-Gopalpur NH in Odisha.

Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan and Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram present in the occasion.

P&NG Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that, the proposed road will pave the way for a new economic architecture of the State. It will boost tourism and facilitate coastal development.

These roads will provide connectivity in the Naxal affected tribal regions & will help curbing the menace by boosting economic activities, Pradhan stated.
