Newborn Girl Sold for Rs 15,000 Rescued in Sambalpur

A newborn baby girl who was allegedly sold off by her parents, was rescued by the local police in Rairakhol area of Sambalpur district.

The baby, aged one month and seven days, was rescued after a complaint was filed by the Childline members.

Her parents, who are reported to be poor, had sold her off for Rs 15,000.

The couple who purchased the newborn have also been detained.
