No More Orders For Lord Jagannath Mahaprasad

Due to the rising number of COVID-19 positive cases, the cooks of Jagannath Temple in Puri have stopped taking orders from outside for Lord Jagannath ‘Mahaprasad.’

Violating social distancing norms, hundreds of devotees gather every day to place order and take away ‘Mahaprasad’ from Jagannath Temple. This has prompted the cooks’ association to take the step.

The number of people associated with preparation and supply of the ‘Mahaprasad’ will also be reduced by 70 per cent.

There has been a recent spike in COVID-19 cases among the servitors of Jagannath Temple in Puri. At least 50 servitors of the Temple have been tested positive for COVID-19.
