No threat to structural stability of Konark Sun Temple: MoS Mahesh Sharma

ONI Bureau: The Union Minister of State for Culture & Tourism Mahesh Sharma today has assured that there is no threat to the structural stability of Sun Temple at Konark.

After attending a high-level meeting at the State Secretariat in Bhubaneswar with senior officials of Odisha government including Odisha Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Chandra Panda, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) officials and other stakeholders, Sharma informed that being a UNESCO heritage site, it’s impossible to replace original carved stones with plain stones in Konark temple.

Earlier, a delegation from Odisha including Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Odisha Minister Ashok Chandra Panda, Lok Sabha MP Prasanna Patsani and Nimapara MLA Samir Ranjan Das met with Sharma in New Delhi regarding the preservation and protection of historical monument.
