Nominations of 3 BJD Rajya Sabha candidates found valid

ONI Bureau:  Nomination papers of BJD’s candidates for elections to three Rajya Sabha seats from Odisha were found valid, informed Returning Officer Rajesh Prabhakar Patil today.

BJD leaders Prashanta Nanda, Soumya Ranjan Patnaik and Achyuta Samanta had filed their nomination papers on Tuesday.

Meantime, nomination of independent candidate Subash Mohapatra was rejected due to lack of proposers in support of him.

As per the notification, filing nomination papers for the polls was March 12 whereas the scrutiny of nominations is March 13 while that for withdrawal is March 15 and elections to three Rajya Sabha seats scheduled to be held on March 23.
