Noted Odia Writers slam “drama” by Sahitya Akademi Awardees

Renowned Odia Writers and Poets tried to show the Mirror to the Sahitya Akademi Award winners, who have returned their awards recently.

“Writers should use pen to lodge their protest. After earning name and fame for years, they should not denigrate the importance of the award. Rather, they must fulfill their obligation to the society by putting pressure on the government through their writing”, was the unanimous view of the nationally acclaimed Writers from Odisha. Some of them see politics in this.

The Writers interviewed by leading Odia Daily, Sambad, included Ramakant Rath, Haraprasad Das, Dr. Sitakant Mohapatra, Das Benahur, Dr. Gourahari Das, Dr. Vijayananda Singh, Santanu Kumar Acharya and Dr. Prativa Rai, Dr. Bijaya Mishra and Prof. Soubhagya Kumar Mishra.
