Odia Girl Lilima Minz helps India hold Japan to 2-2 Draw at Rio 2016

Odia girl Lilima Minz created history, as she became the first woman from Odisha to score a goal in Hockey at the Olympics. Lilima scored the equaliser in the third quarter to help India hold mighty Japan to a 2-2 draw in the opening Women’s Hockey game at Rio Olympics 2016.

Japan had taken a 2-0 lead in the end of second quarter and looked favourite to win the match hands down. However, Rina Rampal reduced the deficit first.

Later, Lilima scored the equaliser to put India on track. Japan tried hard towards the end, but Indian defenders did well to prevent any damage.
