Odia Migrants Block Road In Karnataka, Demand Return To Odisha

In an outrageous incident, more than twenty-five thousand Odia migrants stranded in Karnataka due to lockdown, blocked the Kamakshipalya-Magadi road today to push their demand for returning to Odisha.

The Pravasi Odias hit the street opposing Bengaluru Commissioner of Police Bhaskar Rao’s urge to resume their work rather than leaving their city.

After hundreds of migrant Odias lined up at different places to register themselves to return home, Rao, in a video broadcast, urged them yesterday to stay back in the city and begin their works. He said that Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa had assured Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik that Karnataka government would supervise and serve the migrants. Meanwhile, the local police are attempting to pacify the angry Odia migrants.
