Odia Writer Manoj Kumar Panda receives Sarala Award

Odia writer Manoj Kumar Panda to get prestigious Sarala Award-2015 (1)Bhubaneswar, Oct 27: Noted Odia writer Manoj Kumar Panda received prestigious Sarala Award for his literary achievements and for his book “Maya Bagicha” at a glittering function held on Monday evening here. Sarala Award instituted by Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust, a charitable wing of IMFA Group, carries a cash of Rs 5 lakh and citation.

Bhimsen Satpathy and D. Narayan Rao received Ila Panda Memorial Music Samman and Ila Panda Memorial Art Samman respectively. They received cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh and citation each. Dr Mridula Garg, eminent Hindi writer, graced the occasion as chief guest. Many other dignitaries from various fields  were present on the occasion. The annual Sarala Award has been conferred by the trust since 1979 to the dignitaries in the field of literature and Ekalabya Award to promising sports talents of Odisha.
