Odisha announces Rs.100 Cr additional Input Subsidy for Share Croppers

droughtBhubaneswar, Dec 22: Odisha government on Tuesday announced additional input subsidy worth Rs.100 crore to the share croppers after reviewing drought situation in the state .

Special Relief Commissioner, Pradip Kumar Mohapatra told media that the state government decided to provide additional Rs.100 crore to share croppers as input subsidy to tackle the drought situation.

He said that 26 districts and 215 blocks in Odisha have been affected by drought as per the report of the state government which has also been submitted to the central government for drought assistance.

He clarified that central government had not released any drought assistance to the state yet despite several reminders from the Chief Minister and other ministers. He mentioned that the state was to receive Rs.399.83 crore from the central government.
