Odisha Assembly passes Appropriation Bill for 2016-17

Odisha Assembly on Friday passed Rs 98,416.92 crore Appropriation Bill for financial year 2016-17 in absence of opposition members.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, leader of opposition Narasingh Mishra, BJP chief Basant Panda showed condolence and spoke on the death of former Finance Minister Raghunath Patnaik.

The house was adjourned repeatedly by Speaker Niranjan Pujari as the opposition Congress and BJP members shouting. Not only opposition members but also ruling party MLAs were seen shouting slogans.

The SC/ST MLA issue, implementation of Odisha Reservation of Vacancies (ORV) Act, Chit fund issues forcing the Speaker to adjourn the house repeatedly.
