Odisha bags ‘Top Performer’ award in State Startup Ranking-2018

ONI Bureau: The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) announced results of the first ever States’ Start-up Ranking 2018 at an event in New Delhi today.

While, Gujarat topped the chart bagging the best performer title, Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha, and Rajasthan recognised as the top performer in the first ever ranking of states.

Odisha is also recognised as leader for Start-up policy, incubation hub, seeding innovation, regulatory change champions, procurement leaders, awareness and outreach.

As per report, Odisha has currently recognised 334 Startups within a period of just 18 months.

MSME secretary L.N. Gupta received the top performer certificate of appreciation on behalf of the Odisha Government.

The key objective of the Start-up Ranking initiative was to encourage States and Union Territories to take proactive steps towards strengthening the Start-upecosystems in their states.
