The State Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved proposal to set up Special University of Odia language & literature in Odisha. The Cabinet on Friday approved six proposals at the State Secretariat.
The State government has cleared the amendment of the Orissa Official Language Act 1954 in the meeting. Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi will prepare panel for implementation of odia as official language in odisha.
Notably, the cabinet on Monday approved 14 proposals, including amendments to the Orissa Official Language Act, 1954, Odisha Gram Panchayat Act 1964 and Kalinga Sikhshya Sathi scheme.
