Odisha Cabinet approves reduction on VAT on Natural Gas to 5%

Insight Bureau:  The State Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday  approved eleven proposals at the State Secretariat including reduction on VAT on Natural Gas for both domestic & industrial use from 15% to 5%. But, it will remain unchanged for fuel segment.

Irrigation development project named after former CM Nabakrushna Choudhury at the cost of Rs 635 crore was also approved by the State Cabinet.

The Cabinet given nod to the tender for the work ‘Implementation of Municipal Solid Waste Management of Berhampur Municipal Corporation on design, build, operate and transfer (DBOT) basis.

The State government has also cleared the amendment of Wildlife (Protection) (Odisha) Rules, 1974 for increase of compensation to legal heir of deceased, killed by wild animals to Rs 4 lakh from Rs 3 lakh.
