Odisha Cabinet approves Several Proposals

ONI Bureau: The Odisha Cabinet under Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, has approved several proposals on Agriculture, Finance, Service, Panchayati Raj, Fisheries & Animal Resources Development, Housing & Urban Development, Law, Water Resources, Skill Development, GA, Cooperation etc.

# Changes will be made to Odisha Municipal Corporation Act to ensure voting during the no-confidence motion is not conducted through the secret ballot.

# The Cabinet has also approved 5 water supply projects worth Rs 370 crore to provide fluoride-free pipe water supply systems to 217 villages in Nuapada district. 317 villages in the same district are already covered with pipe water supply systems and process is underway in 371 others.

# The Cabinet has also approved a Milk Production Unit with National Dairy Development Board in Barang with daily production capacity of 5 lakh litres.

# The Government will provide ‘State Government Guarantee’ in favour of the Aska Cooperative Sugar Industries Ltd (ACSI) to borrow cash credit loan of Rs 15 crore from the Aska Cooperative Central Bank.

# The Tourism & Culture Department will be bifurcated. While Tourism Department will continue to function, the new department would be named as Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department.

# Amendment of Odisha Employment Service Class-II (Recruitment and Conditions of Services) Rules, 1990 in order to introduce direct recruitment through Odisha Public Service Commission to the post of Employment Officer in Employment Exchange of the State.

# Waiver of land premium and other dues worth Rs 96.33 lakh in favour of Airport Authority of India (AAI) for installation of RADAR Station at Narendrapur village under Chhatrapur Tahasil of Ganjam district.

# The Advocate General of Odisha will get Rs 15,000 for each appearance in court or tribunal proceedings outside the state on behalf of the government.

# Amendments made to Odisha Jail Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2012. There shall be separate Departmental Promotion Committee for promotion to different categories of posts in Odisha Jail Service. The Chief Secretary will be the Chairperson of the Committee for selection of Senior Superintendent of Circle Jails to the post of Deputy Inspector General of Prisons.
