Odisha CM launches Digital Life Certificate for Pensioners

Odisha Chief MinisterBhubaneswar, Nov 10: In an endeavour to end the hardship of pensioners in getting life certificates, Odisha government launched ‘Digital Life Certificate Initiative’—Jeevan Pramaan for pensioners.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has dedicated a portal of ‘Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS)’ under Finance Department at State Secretariat on Monday.

He also flagged off the ‘Digital Life Certificate Initiative – Jeevan Pramaan’. This scheme is aimed at providing digital life certificates to the pensioners who are drawing their pensions from state treasuries.

Now, pensioners in the state can generate ‘Digital Life Certificate’ through Aadhaar based biometrics devices installed in all 165 Treasuries in the state. They can submit their details and generated certificate by using the Jeevan Pramman portal.

With the introduction of this system, they no need to be present before the Pension Disbursing Officer physically, which will reduced their hardship of being present physically before officer for life certificate for pension

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the occasion said IFMS would improve governance and reduced the hardship being faced by state pensioners in getting life certificate. He also greeted people on the eve of Diwali festival.
