Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik @Naveen_Odisha joins Twitter

It’s official! As per the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik joined the microblogging site, Twitter. ‘Jai Jagannath’ was his first message. Currently, @Naveen_Odisha follows just 8 accounts, while the number of his followers has crossed 125 and counting.

The Odisha CM follows Google India, Twitter, Twitter India, Biju Janata Dal, NDTV, President of India, Narendra Modi and PMO India.

Naveen’s bio on Twitter reads as “Chief Minister of Odisha since 2000; President, Biju Janata Dal”. He has not yet received the ‘Verified’ symbol, but may get very soon. While many politicians and parties getting active on Twitter, it would be interesting to see how Naveen responds to people on the social networking site.

He is known as a media-shy person and never held any press conference in the last 14 years. He believes in issuing press statements or giving bites only.
