Odisha CM seeks Clarification from Balabhadra Majhi over BSNL Row

Nabarangapur-MP-Balabhadra-MajhiBhuabaneswar, Aug 28: Union Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad called Odisha Chief Minister and BJD Chief Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday over MP Balabhadra Majhi’s complaint against his ministry. Prasad informed the Chief Minister that the allegation against him made by BJD MP Majhi to PMO in a letter were baseless.

It is noteworthy that, Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi met Union Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on July 22 and apprised him about poor working condition of BSNL in his constituency. According to reports, Majhi was disappointed with the Union Minister’s attention towards his complaint. In a letter to PMO, Majhi mentioned that, the Minister “was annoyed and answered in a threatening tone that nothing was wrong with BSNL service”.

Over this issue, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik sought clarification from the first time elected Member of Parliament Majhi.

“I only expressed my feeling the way I felt it. Maybe, it was the Minister’s general way of reacting which I took as an offence. It was my first meeting with him. I am, in any case, thankful to the minister that restoration and construction works have started,” BJD MP Majhi, added.
