Odisha CM seeks inclusion of Odia Language in NEET-UG Exam

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday sought intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inclusion of Odia language as a medium of examination in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET-UG) for medical courses.

Notably, the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday decided to conduct NEET-UG in eight languages including six regional languages from 2017-18 academic years.

These languages are including Hindi, English, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu and Tamil.

Patnaik said the Health Ministry has not included ‘Odia’ as an medium of examination which has created negative impact on students of Odisha.
