Odisha completes over 42,000 kms road under PMGSY

Insight Bureau:  Around 42,058 Kms of roads have been completed connecting 13,063 habitations under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Odisha so far, said Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on Thursday.

A high level review meeting held in the Secretariat Conference hall yesterday under the Aditya Prasad Padhi wherein Secretary Rural Development Bishnupada Sethi outlined the administrative, technical and financial issues relating to PMGSY for discussion.

Encouraged by the pace of work the Union Secretary Sri Sinha advised to enhance the current years’ target to 10,000 Kms.

The field level work is going on in full swing for completion of another 14,800 kms of road that will connect more 3492 habitations. Secretary Sri Sethi appraised that these projects would be completed by March, 2019.
