Odisha Crime Branch arrested Motilal Gouda from Andhra Pradesh

Odisha Crime Branch arrested Dr. Motilal Gouda who was absconding after being accused of defrauding the state government by issuing a fake gazette notification and hoodwinked the public money.

Special team of the Crime Branch was tracking Gouda since last four days. Finally, he was caught by the team from Vizag-Vijayanagaram in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.

Gouda will be produced before court on Monday to seek the permission to take him on five-day remand who has allegedly caused a loss of Rs 63 lakh to the state government by issuing fake Gazette notification ordering engagement of five private labs for employee’s health check-up in factories and industries and was in process of signing another contract of Rs. 1.02 crore, but unfortunately the game was over and he was caught red handed.

Meanwhile, the vigilance officials raided his official residential quarters and clinics on Saturday.

The state government has suspended Gouda, the assistant director of Directorate of Factories and Boilers (Medical) who was involved in the case of issuing fake Gazette notification. His anticipatory bail plea was rejected by the Orissa High Court a few days back.

After the rejection of his anticipatory bail plea, Gouda started to hide himself at several places in Odisha and escaped to the neighbouring State Andhra Pradesh. Lastly, the hide and seek game was over and Gouda was arrested.
