Odisha DGP Sanjeev Marik cancels 10-Day Leave Plan

While the law and order situation in the twin city of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack has deteriorated further and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik (who also holds the Home portfolio) is drawing flak for his inability to set the house in order, DGP Sanjeev Marik was planning to go on a 10-day leave.

However, the public outrage and criticism from all quarters, forced the DGP to cancel his leave plan. The loot and robbery in high profile CDA area in Cuttack, has raised a huge question mark on the efficiency and ability of entire police force.

DGP Marik had applied for the leave much earlier and received the approval too from CM Naveen Patnaik. However, the current situation was not conducive for him to take a break. Without citing any reasons, he preferred to drop his plan, which came as a big relief for the Odisha Government and CM Naveen Patnaik.
