Odisha Directs Private Hospitals To Reserve 50 % Beds For COVID-19 Patients

As several states in India is facing acute crisis in management of the second wave of the pandemic, the Odisha Government has directed the private hospitals to reserve at least 50 per cent beds for COVID-19 patients.

The Additional Chief Secretary (Health) PK Mohapatra has written to the district administration to direct all private hospitals with bed strength of more than 30 to reserve at least 50 per cent general beds and ICU/HDU beds each.

If need arises, the private hospitals may be asked to reserve 100 per cent beds for COVID-19 patients, he added.
