Odisha Engineer Prabhas Samal released by ISIS Militants in Libya

According to local TV channels quoting his family sources, Odia Engineer Prabhas Ranjan Samal, who was abducted by the IS militants, has been released conditionally.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is yet to confirm the release, saying they don’t have any information. Another Indian from Andhra Pradesh, who was abducted by the ISIS, is still in their captivity.

The Indian Express has reported that Prabhas has fled from the IS custody. However, his sister-in-law told the local TV channels that he had talk with her this afternoon and said that he has been conditionally released by the IS militants.

The family members of Prabhas has appealed the Odisha Government as well as the centre to ensure his safe return. Samal hails from Hantapada under Marshaghai block in Kendrapara district. He was working as a Laboratory Technician in Sirte, Libya.
