Odisha facilitates Self-Employment opportunities for 11.21 lakh Youth

Job opportunityThe State government on Thursday announced that it has facilitated self-employment opportunities for 11.21 lakh youth through 2.49 lakh MSME units in the state by December last year.

In reply to a written question of BJD MLA Prabhat Ranjan Biswal, the MSME Minister Jogendra Behera told in the State Assembly that Odisha government has made an investment of Rs 12,203 crore by establishing 2.49 lakh MSME units in the state.

Moreover, these MSME units have provided employment opportunities to 11, 21,146 educated youth in the state. The financial assistance had also been provided by the central and the state governments to different groups in the state.

Around Rs 653 crore has been targeted to invest by the government in 91 identified ancillary projects with the help of large industries those who had already set their projects in the state, Behera added.
