Odisha Farmers to wear Black Badges from today: Soumya Patnaik

soumya-patnaikFarmers under the banner of Navnirman Krushak Sanghathan (NKS) will wear black badges and hoist black flags on their houses from today protesting use of police force to restrain farmers for coming to Bhubaneswar to attend Chasi Samavesh (farmers’ convention) on Wednesday.

This was informed by Former MP and the President of Ama Odisha Party, Soumya Ranjan Patnaik on Thursday who is also an advisor of Navnirman Krushak Sangathan (NKS).

“Every household will resort to Satyagraha; every Farmer’s family will do Satyagraha. A Satyagraha will be launched to see the demise of Naveen Government,” said Soumya Patnaik.

Notably, over 1 lakh farmers across the State have planned to hold a mass rally in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday against injustice to farmers in the State. Their main points of this protest were Price, Pension and Prestige for the farmers of Odisha.

Several leaders were arrested and thousands of farmers travelling to Bhubaneswar were detained at several places. NKS chief adviser, Soumya Ranjan Patnaik was also arrested in Bhubaneswar in this regard.
