Odisha Govt approves Rs 2770 Cr damage assistance for Cyclone Titli-hit Districts

ONI Bureau:  The Odisha Government on Monday approved damage assistance of Rs 2770 crore for the cyclone Titli hit districts of Odisha.

After the State Executive Committee meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi at the State Secretariat, Special Relief Commissioner Bishnupada Sethi informed about the distribution of funds that have been sanctioned to several departments for various repair and restoration works.

Sethi informed that a financial assistance of Rs 375 crore will be provided as relief to the people affected due to cyclone Titli and subsequent flood. After the distribution of first installment, the rest amount will be sent to the bank accounts of the victims directly.

Besides, 27 crore has been approved for energy department, Rs 20 crore to the Food and Civil Supplies department, Rs 7 crore to water resources department, Rs 50 crore to Works Department and Rs 55 crore towards Rural Development Department and Rs 624 crore for Panchayati Raj Department, Sethi added.

Earlier, Collectors of the three districts of Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada have been given Rs 102 crore for provision of first installment of the Gratuitous Relief (GR).
