Odisha Govt asks DISCOMs to reduce AT&C loss to 30%

In another step towards quality power supply in the State, the Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on Thursday reviewed the performance of power distribution sector in Odisha.

Taking stock of the performance of the companies over last 3 years Padhi directed the four power distribution companies (DISCOM) to reduce the aggregate technical & commercial loss (AT&C) to 30 per cent by the end of 2016-17.

The DISCOMs were also asked to first track replacement of the defective meters and tighten the enforcement activities through squad checks and disconnection for bringing down the theft and bypassing etc.

They were also advised to improve their cash balance situation by enhancing collection efficiency. The issues relating to 100% billing, 100% collection, raising satisfaction level of the consumers through quality power supply and timely delivery of services etc were discussed in the meeting.
