Odisha Govt directs eight Chinese Nationals working in Dhamra to leave India

Dhamra PortOdisha government on Monday served “Leave India” notice to eight Chinese nationals who were working under Dhamra Port Company Limited (DPCL) in Bhadrak district of the State.

Notably the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had informed to the Odisha government regarding the presence of Chinese nationals in Bhadrak district were found engaged in work at a place close to the missile-launch facility at APJ Abdul Kalam Island.

Home Secretary Asit Tripathy told reporters that the Odisha government has asked the Superintendent of Police, Bhadrak district to execute Leave India notices on the Chinese nationals.

Official sources said that Chinese nationals were holding business visas where they worked as employees of the Thai company.

Earlier among 19 Chinese nationals 9 of them already left who were worked under the Thai company on DPCL’s expansion project.
