Odisha Govt hikes Salary of School Teachers by 25%

The State Government has hiked the salary of Government School teachers today by 25% as per the 2013 grant-in-aid provisions, said by School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra.

The hike will be applicable from June 1, 2016. The government has also made provisions for an annual increase of 3% in the basic salary and the increase will benefit teachers of upper primary schools, high schools, Sanskrit toll schools and Madrasas.

However, a new social security scheme has also been launched for the teachers by the State government under which Rs 2 lakh will be paid to teachers in case of death during service as compensation while Rs 1.5 lakh will be awarded in case of disability.
