Odisha Govt imposes stock limits on Onion Traders

ONI Bureau: To curb the rise in onion prices, Odisha Government has stipulated stock limits of onion for traders.

As per the government’s decision, the traders in Cuttack cannot stock over 500 quintals of onion. However for Bhubaneswar, Puri, Berhampur, Sambalpur and Rourkela the traders can maintain an account of 350 quintals,  informed Food Minister Surjya Narayan Patro.

The prices are expected to normalise within 10 to 15 days as Southwest monsoon already hits Odisha, Patro said.
