Odisha Govt introduces Third Party Assessment and Training

OdishaBhubaneswar, May 30: Odisha State Employment Society is conducting placement linked training programme. OSEMS has introduced third party assessment through DGT empanel led assessing bodies. Upon completion of training and assessment candidates are granted NCVT certificates.

On Friday, there was a meeting with the Assessing Bodies to push forward the process of assessment. Director, SDI, Ministry of Skill and Entrepreneurship Development, Govt of India, Regional Director, RDAT, Hyderabad attended the meeting and reviewed the progress of assessment. 8 assessing bodies were suspended till further orders and their batches were cancelled. All other assessing bodies have been asked to complete the pending batches by 10th June, 2015 failing which action will be initiated.

Ministry of Skill Development will extend all supports for third assessment and certification by NCVT. Cancelled assessing bodies are ACI, AER Skills, Assocham, CBSE, C11, Global Skills, ISTD and India Skills. Still gap study is decided to be conducted in the state.

SCTEVT will be empanelled as assessing body and the faculties of ITI and Polytechnics will be selected as assessors. Dinesh Nijhawan, Director, SDI, M. R. Gaire, Regional Director, RDAT, Hyderabad, P. J. Nath, Director, State Employment Mission were present in the meeting. Action plan was drawn for effective implementation and timely conduct of assessment of training and certification by NCVT. Odisha is first state to introduce third party assessment and certification by NCVT under Model employable skills.

After the meeting the members interacted with Minister E&TE&TE Snajay Kumar Das Burma and Principal Secretary Asit Tripathy and briefed about implementation of the programme.
