Odisha Govt issues Draft Notification to ban use of Plastic

ONI Bureau:  Moving towards the target of making Odisha plastic-free within next two years, the State Government on Wednesday issued a draft notification on use of plastic in six major cities of the state.

As per the notification, the state government has decided to implement ban of plastics in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Rourkela, Berhampur and Sambalpur from the eve of Gandhi Jayanti this year.

As per the drafted regulations, people have been barred from manufacturing, storage, trading, transport, sale and import of polythene carry bags of any shape from October 2.

Likewise, ban will be imposed on plastic-made materials like spoon, cups, plate, glass, straw, pouches for water and other liquid materials.
