The Pilot Project of Odisha Govt launches Pilot Project of Baby Health Cardthe Baby Health Card had been launched by Mr Sanjay Kumar Das Burma, Minister of Food & Civil Supplies, Govt of Odisha in the presence of Mr Abasar Beuria, Former Ambassador to UAE, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. Baby Health Card is a technological innovation in the field of mobile health, designed and developed by CandidBiz Solutions Pvt Ltd, Bhubaneswar. The dignitaries unveiled the “Baby Health Card” in the presence of a gathering consisting of the media, teachers and more than thousand parents at the Malipada campus of Shree Krishna International School, Bhubaneswar on the backdrop of the Annual Extravaganza “Revolution 2015” of the school. Shree Krishna International School sponsored the first batch of one thousand cards as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility.

This technology empowers the parents of a newborn to receive regular vaccination alerts via text (SMS) and voice messages, regular health tips and important milestones to keep them on track with their ward’s Routine Immunization programme. All that is needed to be done by the parents is to SMS the date of the birth and a pin obtained by scratching a silver panel at the back of the card to a designated mobile number. Baby health card plays an important role in improving Routine Immunization (RI) Rates and reducing Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPDs). According to the National Family Health survey (NFHS-3), VPDs are still responsible for over 5 lakh deaths of under-five children in India annually.  The launch was a huge success as an overwhelming number of parents wanted to avail of the services to ensure 100% immunization for their tiny tots.
