Odisha Govt proposes reintroduction of Board exams in Class V, VII

The School and Mass Education department has proposed reintroduction of Board Examinations in Class V and VII. School and Mass Education Minister, Debi Prasad Mishra said that the department has already sent letter to Union Ministry of Human Resources Development (HRD), Smriti Irani regarding this issue and taken this step after discussion with parents and educationists.

Sources said, nearly 49,12,000 students are studying at 58,158 primary and upper primary schools across the state. The board examinations for classes V and VII were eliminated before 15 years ago. By imposing board exam in class V and VII, students will have a practice and experience of board exams.
