Odisha Govt to set up Temporary Banks at Panchayat Offices

gram-panchayatInorder to reduce the problems face by people at unbanked areas due to scrapping of old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denomination notes, Odisha Government on Wednesday decided to set up temporary bank counters at all Panchayat offices.

This was informed by the Odisha Panchayati Raj Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo on Wednesday.

Sahoo informed that require infrastructure for the set up of bank will be provided by the Panchayati Raj Department.

In this connection, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed Chief Secretary to initiate banking services in Panchayat offices with no bank branches.

Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi said Bank Mitras will be act as representatives who will visit the unbanked area and will provide banking facilities at Panchayat offices.
