Odisha Govt to cancel appointment of 4,000 Contractual Teachers

Orissa High CourtBhubaneswar, Nov 21: Odisha government is likely to cancel appointment of as many as 4,000 contractual teachers those were appointed after June 11, 2015.

As per reports, the state government has informed the Orissa High Court that it would withdraw all the appointments were made after June 11, 2015 due to allegations of irregularities in the process.

The contractual teachers those were appointed after June 11, 2015 during the academic session of 2014-15 will be affected. Despite High Court’s  stay order on the appointment of teachers in June, appointments were carried out in the state.

During the hearing on Friday, the government assured that court that all the appointments made after the date would be withdrawn.

Reacting to the government decision to cancel appointment of contractual teachers, the Contract Teachers’ Association has threatened to go on strike and ghearo Chief Minister and Education Minister’s residences.
